KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 206 new positive COVID-19 cases today, an increase of five cases compared to 201 cases yesterday.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily COVID-19 statement said this brought the state’s case tally to 254,433.
“Of the 206 new cases, 110 are in Category 1 (no symptoms) and 95 are in Category 2 (mild symptoms.
“There is one case in Category 3 (lung infection) and no cases were recorded for Category 4 (lung infection and requires oxygen) as well as Category 5 (lung infection and requires ventilator),” the committee said.
On the breakdown of new cases according to the district, SDMC said Miri accounted for 66 cases; Kuching (64); Sibu (36); Kapit (21); Meradong (six); Bintulu (four); two each in Samarahan and Kanowit.
The district of Sarikei, Serian, Sri Aman, Asajaya and Beluru recorded one case each.
“There was no new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported on Monday and there is no new cluster declared.
“The state currently has two active COVID-19 clusters,” the committee added.
