KAPIT: Bukit Goram Assemblyman, Jefferson Jamit Unyat disclosed that the Kapit-Song Road has great potentials as a venue to organise the ‘Mountain Bike Challenge’ because of its rugged terrains.
“Mountain biking is a new activity. I was told that there are 21 bikers from all over the state taking part in the event with the starting point at Katibas Bridge, Song to Kapit covering a distance of 48 kilometres.
“They started at 7.30 am and arrived after 1.30 pm. So this kind of eco-tourism, adventure type of activity is very much in line with CAN (culture, adventure and nature). This is what Kapit is as a CAN destination to attract adventurous tourists,” said Jamit at the prize- giving ceremony of the inaugural ‘Katibas-Kapit Mountain Bike Challenge held in conjunction with this year’s 22nd edition of the Baleh-Kapit Raft Safari at the Town Square here last Saturday afternoon.
