KUCHING: The ‘Syukurnya Syawal’ is this year’s Raya inspiration tagline for the radio channels of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak which produce 21 special programmes for its listeners.
With its tagline, RTM Sarawak through the SARAWAKfm channel, the stations in the areas of SRI AMANfm, SIBUfm, LIMBANGfm, and BINTULUfm will create programmes like musical dramas, interview sessions, religious segments and special showcases for listeners’ tuning in pleasure.
“These programmes use local dialects to make listeners feel closer to home,” said SARAWAKfm manager Noraini Ibrahim in a press conference at the Auditorium Kecil, RTM Kuching yesterday.
On the eve of Raya, SARAWAKfm will have a ‘Kamboh Raya’ segment for listeners to share their activities or convey messages to other listeners, starting at midnight until 3am.
According to a statement, SARAWAKfm will tune on-air live for the Solat Sunat Aidilfitri from Masjid Jamek, followed by a special Aidilfitri talk, ‘Raie Khas Raya.’
SARAWAKfm will entertain its listeners with a variety of options from Jiran Sekampung Khas Raya and a Showcase ‘Satu Ari di Ari Raya’ which will feature several local artistes such as Azie Mustapa and previous Bintang Kecil winners.
On the second day, SARAWAKfm will entertain its listeners with ‘Mak Nek Berkaul Raya’, which is the Raya edition of an existing segment, ‘Petua Mak Nek’.
‘Syawal Bersama Saudara Muslim’ and Showcase ‘Lan Bejarah Gedong’ will also be airing on the same day.
According to Noraini, ‘Lan Bejarah Gedong’ is a programme where they invite radio presenters from WAIfm and Red FM to share their experience visiting Muslim’s open houses during Raya.
“We are using that concept because in RTM we are highlighting a lot of Malaysian Family concepts,” she said.
On the third and fourth day of Syawal, the station will feature programmes such as ‘Stesen Kembar Raya Aidilfitri Rentas Negeri’ together with other states like KelantanFM, Labuan, MutiaraFM.
Listeners may tune to interview sessions, ‘Kisah Anak Rantau’ and ‘Juh ke Dapo Khas’.
“Juh ke Dapo Khas is also Raya edition of the existing programme, and will be focusing on Raya cuisines,” said Noraini.
As for the fourth day of Syawal, SARAWAKfm will have a celebrative segment, Khas Raya Santai #kitakpilihkameknyanyi and also Carta Khas Raya ‘Sitok Kita Gelumok Raya Sama-sama Nong’ and ‘Loyar Urang Mudak Raya’.
“Our radio presenters will be singing for the listeners based on the requests made using the hashtag, also will be conducted live,” Noraini said.
A Melanau language segment will also be included for the sharing session, and the segment is called ‘Telo Berayak Gak Perantauan’.
All the stations have come up with incredible programmes; for example in the Northern Region of Sarawak, LIMBANGfm, MIRIfm, and BINTULUfm have come up with amazing initiatives to ensure the Raya Programme is successful.
Apart from that, LIMBANGfm, MIRIfm and BINTULUfm also come together to collaborate for Pentas Aidilfitri Bersepadu programme, which can also be tuned in through SARAWAKfm.
SRI AMANfm is up with ‘Mesra Raya’ and ‘Nostalgia Raya Dolok Marek’ while SIBUfm will present ‘Kerdipan Seni’.
Also present at the press conference was the head of management for the radio section Marrill Chunggat.
“Our director aims to present more joined programmes between RTM radio stations in the state.
“With these programmes, we hope RTM Sarawak will be a more united organisation,” said Marrill.
