BAU: Police here arrested a young woman on suspicion of selling online gambling top-ups along Jalan Tondong yesterday.
Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon said the ‘Op Dadu Khas’ raid was carried out by the district’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at a convenience store around 2.45pm.
“The team detained the suspect as she was believed to be involved in online gambling top-up sales activity.
“Also seized are the suspect’s phone, a SIM card and a sum of cash,” he said.
The 21-year-old suspect who did not have any past record, was taken to the police station along with the seized items.
Poge said the case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953, which carries for a fine up to RM50,000 or a jail term up to three years, if convicted.
