22 detained at noisy outlet

MIRI: A team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) went to check a complaint about a loud noise that caused public disturbance at wee hours of Friday (Aug 28) coming from an entertainment outlet in Permyjaya here.

The police team detained 22 people including 11 customers inside the premises.

“The raid was conducted around 3am by our CID personnel and rounded up 11 workers of the outlet and 11 customers,” said local police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when met on Friday at the Miri Central Police Station.

Out of these 22 people detained, four were females.

“They have committed various offences framed under Section 24 Entertainment Ordinance 2001; Section 55B Immigration Act 1959/63; Regulation 39 (b) Immigration Regulation 1963 and Section 15(1)(c) Immigration Act  1959/63,” he pointed out.

Lim added that all of the suspects have undergone urine tests.
