MIRI: A total of 22 Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) will be implemented in Niah and Bekenu, said Assistant Minister for Women, Family and Childhood Development, Rosey Yunus here yesterday.
She added that these projects would involve a total of RM2,950,000.
“We hope this RTP will provide benefits that can bring about changes in the development of the local community here.
“I hope the villagers will achieve a breakthrough in discussions with certain agencies to determine the projects they have been working on,” she explained.
Among the projects approved in Niah include the upgrading works by the State Public Works Department (JKR) on SMK Suai classrooms and parking area (RM200,000 each), building a new SMK Subis gallery block (RM200,000/JKR), upgrading works of balairaya Rh. Mentali, Saeh (RM100,000/JKR), upgrading of Saeh Community Bestari Anjung (RM50,000), upgrading of Tanjung Belipat Village Hall (RM100,000/JKR), upgrading of Toh Pei Kong Sepupok building (RM100,000/JKR), Kampung Sepupok Hall (RM100,000/JKR), upgrading of Rh Selan Hall (RM100,000/JKR), upgrading of Sepupok Plan Scheme Hall (RM100,000/JKR) and new building of Rh Danggang Saeh Wood Bridge (RM150,000/JKR).
Meanwhile, in Bekenu the projects include the replacement of the old roof of SMK Bekenu (RM250,000/JKR), upgrading works of Toh Pei Kong Bekenu (RM100,000/JKR), building a new Kampung Angus village hall (RM250,000/JKR), building a cement trench Kampung Kelapa Bekenu (RM200,000/MDS), the upgrading of the Calvary Charismatic Bekenu Church (RM100,000/JKR), the upgrading of Kampung Tanjung Bungai Year (RM50,000/JKR), upgrading Kampung Muhibbah Hall 3 (RM100,000/JKR), building a drainage system from Kampung Kelulit Mosque to Kuala Sibuti (RM300,000/DID), construct Sungai Lumut, Ranchah Ranch (RM200,000/DID) and repair Bailey Bridge Rh Alvion Tiris (RM50,000/JKR).
Also present were Acting District Officer Subis Minggu Jampong, Pemanca Ali Mudin and local leaders.
