KUCHING: Sarawak’s COVID-19 cases continues to increase with an additional 23 cases from Tuesday’s figure after logging in 307 cases today.
This brings the total number of cases in the state to 255,024.
In its daily update, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said only one patient was infected with lung infection and required oxygen, is categorised under Category 4.
Whereas, a total of 158 cases are categorized under Category 1 (no symptoms) and 148 under Category 2 (mild symptoms).
“Kuching tops the list with 89 cases, followed by Sibu with 73; Miri (53); Kapit (22); Lawas (21); seven each in Serian, Bintulu, Kanowit and Bukit Mabong; Meradong (five); three each in Song and Kota Samarahan; two each in Sarikei and Subis; and one each in Limbang, Sri Aman, Mukah, Lundu, Tebedu and Selangau.
“No new fatality was reported in the daily update,” SDMC said.
In addition, there were 17 new persons-under-surveillance and 273 of them are currently quarantined at designated hotels.
SDMC also stated that the total number of persons under surveillance that had been discharged was 166,353.
In terms of non-compliance to the standard operating procedures, Kuching police had issued a total of 11 compound notices to errant individuals for failing to scan the MySejahtera before entering a premises.
With that, this brings the total number of compounds issued by Sarawak police to 13,288.
