MIRI: Twenty-three finalists of the Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 turned up for their official presentation at Pustaka Miri here, yesterday.
Present to witness the ceremony were Miri Mayor Adam Yii and the event’s director Jude Benjamin Lisa.
The finalists will be taking part in the preliminary round of the pageant on April 26 at Coco Cabana Miri while the finals will held at Meritz Hotel here on April 28.
The winner of the pageant will represent Malaysia at the annual Miss Grand International pageant slated to be held in Venezuela in October this year.
Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 national pageant is presented by Nur Sajat Aesthetics. It offers a total cash prizes of RM200,000 to the top three winners and subsidiary title winners including Miss Social Media, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimwear and Miss Popular Vote.
The pageant’s main sponsors are Clarel’s Malaysia, NuFinity White and Borneo Nedispa.
The finalists will also be wearing various clothes from Maatin Shakir, Indu Borneo, Bikini Malaysia and BorneoNative.
During the one-week pageant from April 21-28, the finalists and management team of Miss Grand Malaysia will put up at Merdeka Suites Hotel, Miri and visit various attractions in the city including Niah National Park, Tusan Beach, Piasau Nature Reserves, Miri Crocodile Farm and Miri Times Square to name a few.
During the finals, the reigning Miss Grand International 2018 from Paraguay, Clara Sosa and Miss Grand Malaysia 2018 Debra Jeane Poh will crown the new Miss Grand Malaysia 2019.
Also expected to present are Nur Sajat of Nur Sajat Aesthetic, the title presenter of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 national pageant and other beauty queens including Miss Grand Malaysia 2014 Jane Khoo, Miss Grand Malaysia 2015 Santhawan Boonratana, Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 Sanjeda John, Miss Global Malaysia 2017 Cass Chen, Miss Grand Sarawak 2017 Fiolia Aliq, Miss Scuba Malaysia 2017 Rachel Ho, Miss Intercontinental Malaysia 2018 Scarlett Megan Law and Miss Global Malaysia 2018 Rheana Deandra.
To be hosted by Dan Ling and Shannen Totten, the finals will feature talents from Borneo Jass Festival, the official festival partner of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019.
The public can vote for their favourite finalists on Star Phone Mobile App from One Smart Star Malaysia, the official Mobile App partner which is available on both iOS and Android phone.
Meanwhile, Mirians can look out for some interesting activities including a meet-and-greet session with Nur Sajat at Bintang Megamall on April 27 at 10am.
During the session, the public will have the chance to win free tickets to the finals while Clara and Debra will be going on a live cooking show to be telecast through Miss Grand International Facebook to demonstrate the making of local cuisine including “mee kolo” and “laksa Sarawak”.
