KUCHING: Twent y thre e children from Rumah Kanak- Kanak Laila Taib (Laila Taib Orphanage) were t reated t o a sumptuous dinner here in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. The programme was organised by the pro tem committee of the Tanjong Lobang College (TLC) Community Care Association of Sarawak.

At the event, the association also presented “Duit Raya” (Raya cash) to the children. Its pro tem president, Datu Sepuan Anu said it was the first time the association was holding such a programme, which was to give back to society, especially the needy and less fortunate. “In future, we will hold more events for the children.

This is one of the ways to get closer to them and to know what their needs and wants are,” he said dur ing the TLC Communi t y Care Associat ion Har i Raya Gathering at Kopi O Corner here on Saturday night. Sepuan added the association had applied to register itself.

“At the moment, we have 33 pro tem committee members. We are encouraging more to join the association,” he said. He hoped more former TLC students would join the association.

TLC in Miri is now known as Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang College. Those who wish to join the association may contact its pro tem secretary, Nadiah Abdullah at 01115134268. Also present at the Hari Raya Gathering on Saturday night was Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Executive Secretary, Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek. He is a pro tem committee member of the association.
