KUCHING: A motorcyclist succumbed to death in a two-vehicle collision accident happened along Jalan Sultan Tengah on Monday (Aug 26).
The accident, involving a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle and a Perodua Axia, happened around 10.45 pm when both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions.
Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the collision occurred when the motorcyclist swerved out of control and collided with the oncoming Axia in the other lane.
“As a result, the 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics due to severe injuries.
“Meanwhile, the Axia driver escaped unscathed in the accident,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

In light of this, Farhan advised the public to be careful when driving on the road, especially during the rainy season due to slippery roads and other unexpected factors.
