MIRI: A 23-year-old was killed in an accident that occurred at KM124 Miri-Bintulu Road this morning.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the deceased was identified as Nyangau Achi.
“He died on the spot due to serious injuries he sustained following the crash,” said Lim when contacted.
However, the driver of the lorry was unharmed.
According to Lim, prior to the 9.50am accident, Nyangau was riding his motorcycle home from his workplace.
The lorry was coming from the opposite direction.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Nyangau’s motorcycle had entered the lorry’s lane before the collision,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
