MIRI: A local man here was arrested for possessing drugs of various types worth RM9,074.05.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said team from Narcotic Criminal Investigation Division arrested the man at 3.15pm at Miri Waterfront Commercial Centre yesterday.
“The team searched the suspect’s body and found various types of drugs belonging to the suspect.
“The case is investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952, if convicted can sentenced to death penalty or life in prison and caned no less than 15 times,” he said.
He advised the public to come forward the nearby police stations if they have any information relating to drug abuse.
