KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 2,413 Covid-19 cases on Friday (Oct 1), bringing its overall tally to 212,037.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 2,401 cases or 99.5 percent were in Category 1 (no symptoms) or 2 (mild symptoms).
“Twelve cases or 0.50 percent are in Category 3 (lung infection), 4 (lung infections and requires oxygen), or 5 (lung infection and requires ventilator).”
SDMC said 453 cases or 18.77 percent were in Category 1 while 1,948 cases or 80.73 percent were in Category 2.
It said there was one case or 0.04 percent in Category 3, six cases or 0.25 percent in Category 4, and five cases or 0.21 percent in Category 5.
On the breakdown of the cases, it said 787 cases were reported in Kuching District, Miri (307), Sibu (186), Sri Aman (123), Bintulu (117), Samarahan (87), Serian (78), Bau (78), Betong (68), Saratok (66), Lundu (55), Mukah (47), Limbang (46), Pusa (46), Lawas (37), Sarikei (34), Kabong (34), Simunjan (33), Subis (32), Kapit (28), Asajaya (26), Lubok Antu (18), Meradong (15), and Marudi (10).
SDMC said the districts that reported fewer than 10 cases were Song with six cases, Matu (six), Pakan (six), Tebedu (six), Tatau (five), Belaga (four), Daro (four), Bukit Mabong (four), Selangau (four), Beluru (three), Telang Usan (three), Sebauh (two), Kanowit (one), and Julau (one).
As of Friday, 166 new person-under-surveillance (PUS) cases have been recorded.
Meanwhile, 155,503 PUS had been discharged statewide.
