KUCHING: A 25 per cent discount on annual assessment fees above RM400 threshold will be given to residential, commercial, industrial and special purpose holdings for the year 2020.
This was among the measures announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Package to assist Sarawakians affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The discount on assessment rate will benefit more than 185,000 premises,” he told the press yesterday.
He said this would be able to lessen the burden of the people and business owners.
“On this, it will cost the Sarawak government RM74.58 million for the year 2020,” he said.
In the meantime, he said there would also be 30 per cent discount for payments of land rents to all land uses for the year 2020.
“These measures will benefit 52,403 commercials, industrial, residential, large scale plantations and other public facilities,” he said.
For this, he said it would cost the state government about RM11.84 million.
In addition, Abang Johari also announced a one-off deferment payment for land premium for the year 2020, which would benefit 1,721 stakeholders across the state.
“This includes agriculture, residential, commercial and industrial units as well as private and public institutions,” he said.
