KOTA KINABALU: A total of 25 beautiful women from Sabah will be vying for the title of Miss Takad Nabalu Ambassador 2020 at the finals this March 21.

Organising chairman Jainetha Stephen said the finals will be held at the International Technology & Commercial Centre (ITCC) here with winners standing to take home cash prizes amounting to more than RM50, 000.

“Organised by Takad Nabalu Welfare Association, the contest is intended to raise funds for the Bondulu Children Home, Toboh Tambunan and a pastoral home to be named at a later date.

“Providing assistance to welfare organisations is among the various objectives of Takad Nabalu, which is helmed by its President Datuk James Ratib,” she said during a press conference here Wednesday evening.

Jainetha said a total of 36 women aged from 18 to 26 had attended a talent contest on Feb 29.

“Initially we were looking at 15 participants for the final round but the president wanted to give the opportunity for more participants to gain experience in participating in the contest, hence we raised the number to 25 finalists,” she said.

“Miss Takad Nabalu Ambassador will also be tasked with carrying out charity works organised by Takad Nabalu Association,” she said. – Bernama
