KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 255 new positive Covid-19 cases today (Feb 27), bringing the tally to 9,374. In addition, a new cluster has formed.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that of the total, 106 cases were in Sibu District, Selangau (27), Miri (26), Kapit (22), Bintulu (13), Kuching (12), Betong (11), Kanowit (nine), Sri Aman (eight), five each in Dalat and Bukit Mabong, four in Bau, two each in Pusa and Saratok, and one each in Meradong, Sarikei and Subis.

Out of the 105 cases in Sibu District, 77 were individuals fround through active case detection (ACD), 16 were symptomatic individuals screened at health centres, 12 were others screened at health centres, and one is a health worker.

In Selangau district, 27 cases are from the newly declared Buloh Cluster comprising three longhouses in Sungai Buloh. The index is 32-year-old Sarawakian who was detected on Feb 21. The other cases in the cluster were detected through ACD.

As for the 26 cases in Miri District, 15 were found through ACD, eight were screened at health centres, and three were symptomatic individuals, also screened at health centres.

Of the 22 cases in Kapit District, 20 are from Gelong Cluster, one from Jan Yong Cluster, and one was screened at a health centre.

From six out of the 13 cases in Bintulu district, 10 were individuals found through ACD, three were symptomatic individuals screened at health centres, and one was screened at another health centre.

In Kuching District, SDMC said eight are individuals screened through ACD; three are from Emperoh Jambu CLuster, and one was found during screening at a health centre.

In Betong District, of the 11 cases 10 are from Jalan Muhibbah Cluster,and one was found through ACD. As for Kanowit district, nine cases were found through ACD.

In Sri Aman district, of the eight cases reported, seven are from Jalan Muhibbah Cluster, and one was detected at a health centre. This is an Import C case having been infected in Lawas district.

Of the five cases reported in Dalat District, three were screened at the health centre, and two found through ACD.

In Bukit Mabong district, its five cases are from the Gelong Cluster.

Bau District has found cases and Saratok District has two found during screenings at health centres.

In Pusa District, two cases reported were symptomatic individuals screened at health centres, while a single case in Meradong district is from Sungai Bakong Cluster.

A single case in Subis district is a symptomatic person screened at a health centre, while a single case in Sarikei district was found  through ACD.
