KUCHING: The highly anticipated PUSAKA Golf Tournament 2024 is scheduled to take place on October 26 at the Sarawak Golf Club (KGS), promising to attract approximately 256 participants across various categories.
This year’s event will feature eight attractive ‘Hole-In-One’ prizes awaiting participating players.
Zainal Abidin Abdullah, the general manager of the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) said that the tournament will include VIP invitees, special guests, subsidiaries, STIDC staff, and male as well as female players from the open category.
“The impressive turnout underscores the tournament’s enduring popularity among golf enthusiasts in Sarawak.
“The annual event not only aims to promote sportsmanship but also serves as a vital platform for fostering relationships among agencies, subsidiaries, and stakeholders within the timber industry,” he said.
Zainal made these remarks before the handover of prizes for the STIDC Golf Hole-in-One and Challenge Trophy at STIDC, Wisma Sumber Alam, on Thursday.
He further mentioned that participants can look forward to exciting prizes, particularly in the Hole-In-One category.
“Among the enticing rewards are luxury vacations, home theatre systems, a Perodua Bezza 1.0, a Perodua Myvi 1.5, and even prestigious Rolex watches.
“As the event draws nearer, anticipation is building among participants and spectators alike, highlighting the PUSAKA Golf Tournament as a key event in Sarawak’s sporting calendar,” he added.
For the record, the 30th edition of the PUSAKA Golf is organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Golf Club (KGS).
The main objective of this annual event is to strengthen the bonds of friendship among agencies, subsidiaries, and players in the timber industry in Sarawak, while also reinforcing collaborative networks in the sector through the sport of golf.
Among those present at the event were General Manager of Saratim Insurance Agency Services Sdn Bhd, Datuk Patrick Liew, Manager of Lonpac Insurance Bhd Sarawak Branch and Lonpac Adjustment Sdn Bhd, Wong Shon Kwang.
Also present were Patrina Chin Abdullah of Generali Insurance Malaysia Berhad, General Manager of Leong Adjustment Sdn Bhd Tommy Li, and Senior Manager of MSM International Adjuster (M) Sdn Bhd Patrick Ghim.
