KUCHING: A total of 26 women member of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pantai Damai branch received the “Jasamu Dihargai” awards during a ceremony held at Jamilah Hall, Yayasan Sarawak here today.
The presentation of awards was held in conjunction with the International Women’s Day 2019.
The ceremony was officiated by the wife of Rural Electricity assistant minister Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Shorgayah said, “Women in the world are now presented as important figures in society.
“During this celebration, let us also remember the services of women around the world from all walks of life.”
Also present were Rural Electricity assistant minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, and chairman organiser Jumaiyah Sulaiman.
The event was attended by 280 PBB Pantai Damai members in support of the International Women’s Day.
Apart from the award ceremony, the event also saw various activities being held such as Silat performance by Pencak Silat Asli Melayu Sarawak, photography session and evening high tea.
