SIBU: 260 archers from 19 teams are taking part in the 19th edition of Sarawak Outdoor Archery Championship being held at SMK Sacred Heart from March 16 to 20.
The teams are from Melaka, Sabah, Penang, Johor, Perak, Wira, MSN Sarawak, SMK Bandar Sarikei, SMK Tinjar, Sibu DAA, Pemasa Kapit, Pemasa Kuching, Pemasa Lawas, Pemasa Limbang, X Tune, PMB Miri, Assyakirin Arc. Club, Sibu Archery Centre and Frontier Archery Kuching.
The championship is divided into men’s and women’s open and novice categories.
The events competed include the 90m, 70m, 50m, 30m elimination round, followed by individual and team matches.
Murum State Assemblyman, Kennedey Chukpai Ugon officiated the opening ceremony of the championship yesterday.
