KUCHING: Police have issued 27 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) public place guidelines.
In a statement, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kuching recorded the most compounds issued with 18, followed by four in Padawan, two each in Miri and Sibu, and one in Sarikei.
“Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 135 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.”
On SOP compliance monitoring, teams had inspected 1,296 premises throughout Sarawak.
These included 263 restaurants, supermarkets (173), banks (110), places of worship (55), public markets (54), government offices (40), leisure places (34), hawker stalls (30), construction sites (22), factories (11), and others (544).
Under Ops Benteng, 1,290 vehicles were inspected at seven roadblocks in six districts – two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
“On Wednesday (Nov 11), 7,538 vehicles were inspected during the conditional movement control order around Kuching area. This makes the cumulative number of vehicles checked at 15,897.”
