KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today (Aug 21) announced the imposition of the enhanced movement control order (emco) at 27 localities in the state.
The committee said three localities in the Sungai Asap area of the Belaga district, namely, Rumah Pait Awan, Long Dulit U. Dikan and Rumah Dang Lajang were placed under the EMCO from Aug 17 until Aug 30.
It added that Rumah Gon Ng Serian Baleh in the Bukit Mabong district was placed under the EMCO from Aug 18 until Sept 1 while the EMCO at Rumah Benggau Nanga Sut in the Kapit district is from Aug 19 until Sept 2.
Meanwhile, undergoing the EMCO from Aug 20 until Sept 2 are Rumah Tunai Nanga Bengap in the Lubok Antu district and other localities in the Sungai Asap area of the Belaga district, namely, Rumah Besi Balan; Urun Palm Estate 4; Putra Mas Urun Camp; Rumah Robert Long Urun; Rumah Udau Tedong; Rumah Jangan Bunyi; Rumah Bisie Janea; Rumah Ating Tajai; Rumah Adih Usang; Rumah Labang Uvet; Rumah Baya Sipat; Uma Pawa Tr. Eric William Sia; Uma Badeng Tr. Asmidy Agau; Uma Badeng Jambatan Urun Tr. Anthony Lerang; Tabika Kemas Long Urun; Urun Palm Estate 1; Urun Palm Estate 2; Urun Palm Estate 3 and SEB Solar Energy Quarters.
In the Kapit district, the EMCO at Rumah Umping Baleh is from today (Aug 21) until Sept 5 while the EMCO at Kampung Tambirat Lot in the Asajaya district starts tomorrow (Aug 22) until Sept 4.
The SDMC today also declared the end of the EMCO at Rumah Gunong Kampung Samak Undop as well as Rumah Pilit Kampung Kaong Ulu Undop in the Sri Aman district.
In the Bintulu district, the EMCO at the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station Quarters and Rented room (above Six Two Street store) Number 14 Columbia Shop House also ended today (Aug 21).
Today, the EMCO also ended at Rumah Ngumbang Ajum Nanga Sidang and Rumah Kilut Along Sungai Selitut Tatau-Bintulu Road in the Tatau district, at the Detainees Placement Block, Miri Central Prison in the Miri district as well as at Rumah Rentap Sungai Rayah Bintangor in the Maradong district.
The EMCO at Kampung Perpat in the Kabong district and Rumah Dennis Sungai Klampai in the Saratok district also ended today.
The SDMC today also reported that the Kapit district had turned from red to orange after reporting 38 cases in the past 14 days. The Sebauh district had turned orange from yellow after reporting 21 cases in the past fortnight while the Meradong district had turned yellow from orange after recording 13 new cases in the past two weeks.
With that, Sarawak now has 23 red districts, four orange districts, eight yellow districts, and five green districts.
