MIRI: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Registration Department (JPN) Miri since the reopening of Miri’s Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) last June 15 have had the most busiest counters at the complex, providing the public with the most demanded services.
Miri Mayor Adam Yii said in the past two days, 2,765 people had visited the Miri UTC.
By 10 am on Wednesday (June 17), 364 visitors had been served by various government agencies at UTC. Of these, 146 visitors went to JPN, Yii said.
“The big crowd we have seen over the past two days and today is because of the pented up need to have these services,” he explained.
Yii added the most demanded services were the registrations of births and deaths at JPN and the payments of road taxes at JPJ.
“Due to the movement control order (MCO), conditional movement control order (CMCO) and now recovery movement control order (RMCO), all the due dates for these requirements were given ample extension,” said Yii.
He was happy with the public compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
