KAPIT: A total of 293 Form 5 students of SMK Kapit attended an educational talk here, last weekend. They are candidates for this year’s SPM examination.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi officiated at the closing of the programme.

In his speech, Nanta thanked Seraban Social and Welfare Association (Seraban) for organising programmes and activities which benefit the people.

“More non-governmental organisations (NGOs) should emulate Seraban in organising beneficial programmers and activities,” he said.

He also advised the students to focus on their education rather wasting their time of unnecessary activities.

“Only through knowledge and education can we change our life. And the people, particularly students must be prepared for the future challenges,” he pointed out.

Nanta also advised the students to stay away from drugs because it can destroy their future and family. During the programme, Seraban with Sokanjaya Kapit led by Assistant Director of JKR, Richard Tajan and Divisional Engineer Kapit donated paint to the school.
