KUCHING: As of the close of Feb 16, the Central Database Hub (PADU) has seen 3.49 million Malaysians and permanent residents register, updating their personal information.
This update, announced via PADU’s official Facebook page, represents just 11.6 per cent of the 30.08 million individuals listed in the nation’s administrative records since the launch of the system on Jan 2.
In Sarawak alone, 450,000 residents — 17.2 per cent of the state’s population — have registered, marking the second-highest registration rate in the country.
Selangor leads with 530,000 registrations, followed by Johor and Perak with 340,000 and 310,000, respectively.
Developed by local experts from the Ministry of Economy, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), and the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), PADU is a collaborative effort involving various government ministries, agencies, and state governments. The database’s centralised data facilitates the efficient delivery of economic aid to underprivileged families across Malaysia, ensuring that assistance reaches every deserving household, no matter their location.
PADU remains open for registration until March 31, inviting citizens to update and verify up to 30 personal details, including MyKad numbers, household member counts, and residential addresses, to better serve the needs of the Malaysian population.
