MIRI: A total of 30 participants from Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) and other timber industries staff attended the Occupational Safety and Health campaign at Mega Hotel Miri here yesterday.
The two-day event organised by STIDC, Sarawak Timber Association (STA) and Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) aimed to expose the awareness of safety and health in the workplace and to encourage the culture of health and safety at workplace among the employers and employees.
According to a participant, Harrison Ngau of Shin Yang Plywood Sdn Bhd, the campaign has benefited the participants as it focused on Occupational Health and Safety in the timber industry.
The programme has been around since 2015 and this year is the ninth series involving all divisions in Sarawak.
