SIBU: The Special Education Committee of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) donated 300 sets of stationery worth RM86,400 to 300 B40 category students here yesterday.
Its chairman, Councillor Teo Boon Siew, speaking at the handover ceremony, said this was only the first phase of the project to help all B40 students in Sarawak in gaining access to Kademy’s e-learning platform.
According to him, Kademy, which is equipped with content specially designed for students, including voice animations, interactive games and a question bank, aims to inspire future generations of Sarawakians to seek knowledge and innovation.
“PDP has decided to introduce Kademy, an online learning platform that can physically overcome learning constraints, bring diverse, engaging and up-to-date education to Sarawak, unlock the smart teaching education revolution for teachers and create an exhilarating learning experience for students.
“Although this project was started in the Dudong state constituency, we hope to extend this initiative to all Sarawak students in the future to empower all B40 students and help them gain access to learning resources for free,” he said.
Meanwhile, Teo also thanked the donors who contributed to the success of the first phase of the project.
Also present were Kademy Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Carol Lou and PDP Bawang Assan Youth chief Councillor Joshua Ting Fu Ying.
