KUCHING: The Army’s 31st Border Brigade will be staying put at Junaco Park in Sibu for the time being.

“There are plans for the brigade to move to Bintulu to strengthen security along the Malaysia-Indonesia border in the state but more research and strategic planning are needed beforehand,” said Eastern Field Command commander Lt-Gen Datuk Wira Zamrose Mohd Zain.

He was speaking at a press conference at the Penrissen Camp here after officiating at a circumcision ceremony for 50 children aged between seven and 13 years old held at Bukavu Hall.

The ceremony was held in conjunction with the 5thanniversary celebration of the Eastern Field Command.

Lt-Gen Zamrose revealed that currently the brigade had 3,000 personnel and the force would be strengthened from time to time.
