KUCHING: Enforcement authorities have issued 3,297 compounds to errant premises over the failure to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines during the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said the compounds were issued between Jan 19 and April 20.

He added that most of the compounds involved premises that were operating without permission and members of the public who patronised them.

“Compounds were also issued to premises for operating beyond the stipulated time, which is 10pm and not more,” he said on RTM today.

Aidi said eateries are the most common SOP flouters. “Most failed to adhere to physical distancing and failed to provide relevant information upon entering the premises.”

He advised the public not to be complacent in view of the high number of Covid-19 cases in the state as well as to avoid from being fined by the authorities.

“Don’t be complacent. Follow SOP for the good of all.”
