KUCHING: Police have issued 33 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said that the police will continue to carry out operations to enforce the SOPs, including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.
“Sibu recorded the most compounds issued with 32, and one compound issued in Kota Samarahan.
“The police also arrested 28 individuals (a premises keeper, seven men and 20 foreign women) in an entertainment centre in Sibu for failing to comply with physical distancing and operating past the allowed time.
“Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government issued 80 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils,” the committee said.
On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,480 premises throughout Sarawak.
