KUCHING: Police arrested 33 more individuals statewide for defying the movement control order (MCO) from 8am on Friday to 8am yesterday.
State commissioner of police Datuk Aidi Ismail stated that Padawan recorded the most arrests with seven offenders.
“This was followed by Kuching with six arrests; Miri (five); four each in Simunjan and Lawas; two each in Bau and Matu Daroand one each in Betong, Lubok Antu and Kanowit,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The latest figure brings the tally of arrests made throughout Sarawak to 1,987 arrests since March 18.
All offenders were detained under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Regulation 7(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.
