KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia today recorded 3,384 new Covid-19 daily cases, taking the total infection tally to 254,988, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said 13 fatalities were reported today, taking the death toll to 936.
A total of 3,774 recoveries were also recorded while the total number of active cases with infectivity was now 51,783.
“Of the new cases, 15 were import cases who were infected abroad while the remaining 3,369 were local transmissions,” he said in a statement on Covid-19 development today.
He said Selangor continued to record the highest number of daily cases, with 1,082, followed by Johor (777), Kuala Lumpur (435), Kedah (228), Sarawak (184), Penang (144), Sabah (142), Melaka (101), Negeri Sembilan (89), Perak (82), Kelantan (48), Terengganu (26), Pahang (21), Labuan (14), Putrajaya (seven) and Perlis (four). – Bernama
