KUCHING: A total of 339 ex-police personnel were bestowed the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara (PJPN) by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in a ceremony at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.

Leading the list of recipients was DCP (Rtd) Datuk Nyomek Nyeap, followed by SAC (Rtd) Datuk Mohamad Morshidi Mustapha and several senior officers and officers of other ranks.

DCP (Rtd) Datuk Nyomek Nyeap receives the PJPN award from Tun Taib.

The medal was awarded to the PDRM officers in appreciation of their services towards the country during the Insurgency Period.

Also present were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Bukit Aman Commercial CID director Datuk Mazlan Mansor, Bukit Aman Management (Training) deputy director Datuk Nerita Yaacob and Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Azman Yusof.
