KUCHING: A total of 34 teams participated in the Special Olympic Kuching Chapter Tenpin Bowling Competition held in conjunction with the National Day 2017 celebration at the Riverside Super Bowl on August 31.
Teams from the Community Innovation Centre (PDK) and two teams from SMK Pendidikan Khas participated in the competition.
The competition was divided into two categories namely team category for trainees and category for Special Olympic Volunteers.
The team category was won by the Tenpin Para team who also represented Sarawak at the Paralympic Championship last year. Runners-up were SMK Pendidikan Khas Lundu and third were by Demak Baru team.
Group 3 from PDK Sri Melayu were the champions in the Volunteers category while the runners-up were Uh Ha team followed by PDK Serasot, Bau, third.
Chairwoman of the Special Olympic Kuching Chapter, Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain gave away the medals, trophies and hampers.
