KUCHING: A total of 35 firemen from the Sarawak Fire Department fulfilled their corporate social responsibility (CSR) by carrying out public sanitation works for two organisations on Monday (Feb 8).
Benefitting from the CSR were the Lions Nursing Home at Jalan Stutong Baru and the Salvation Army Children’s Home at Jalan Uplands.
State Fire Department director Khirudin Drahman @ Hussaini said the CSR programme was held in collaboration with the Commonwealth Journalist Association (CJA) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
“At the end of the sanitation operations, we also presented donations to them,” he said.
Also present were Sarawak Fire Safety Division Assistant Director Mohamad Fauzi Mohd Kifli and Sarawak Fire Department Zone 1 chief Yusri Basri.
Meanwhile in a similar matter, the department is organising a one-day blood donation drive tomorrow (Feb 9), from 9am to 1pm.
The campaign, meant to improve the supply of the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank, is held in conjunction with the CNY do, said Khirudin.
