SIMANGGANG: Some 35 organisations and clubs have received Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocations for Simanggang state constituency series 2 for this year with a total amount of RM160,000 yesterday.
The handing over of the MRP cheques was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who is also Simanggang assemblyman at the Simanggang Constituency Community Service Centre.
He said the purpose of the allocation is to finance the activities of organisations and clubs that bring benefits to the communities in their respective jurisdictions.
He stressed that the source of the allocation was from the Sarawak state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), which was channeled through elected representatives from GPS.
“I would like to remind that every organisation, especially JKKK, needs to ensure that the function of the establishment achieves its goals and is guided by the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that has been outlined by the District Office,” he said during the handover ceremony.
He said that the issuance of the guidelines was not to cause inconvenience to the JKKK but to standardise the management of organisation in each village.
“The organisations are also reminded to update the Village Profile, Account Book and prepare minutes of the meeting and then forward a copy to the Service Centre for records and facilitate reference when needed in the future,” he said.
Also present at the handover ceremony was the executive secretary of the Simanggang Constituency Community Service Centre Kapitan Ling Siew Hung.
