SIBU: Thirty-six non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including churches and schools, received special fund (PPK) from Dudong assemblyman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, amounting to RM641,000.

The cheque presentation ceremony for the various amounts ranging from RM5,000 to RM50,000 was held at Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Service centre in Jalan Aman here on Tuesday (June 11).

Tiong was represented by Dudong PDP chairman Datuk Teo Boon Siew, who handed out the special fund to the respective NG0s.

The recipients were Sarawak Traditional Chinese Physician Association, SM Wong Nai Siong, JKKK Kpg Kedada Sibu, Sibu Autistic Association, PIBG Sk Sg Durin, Sibu Division Football Association, Sarawak Sibu Division Building & Civil Engineering Contractors Association, Catholic High School Old Students.

Association, Dream Chasers Toastmasters Club, Sibu United Association (UCA), UCA Women Section, UCA Youth Wing, Iban Methodist Church Nanga Assan, JCI Mandarin Sibu, JCI Sibu Jaya, Sibu Berjaja Lions Club, Kelab Peminat Permainan Papan Sibu, Kesan Janm Sibu and Kian Fung Association Sibu. Other beneficiaries were Kian Siew Association Sibu, Tung Yang Clan Association Sibu, Wu Clan.

Association Sibu, Sarawak Zhang Clan Association, Pulau Li Hua Community Association, Kelab Korea Tang Soo Do Union, KRT Sungai Empawah, Kwong Wai Siew Association Sibu, Maksak Sarawak, Sibu Jaya Community Association, Taman Grand Heights Community Association, Taman Li Hua Community Association, New Generation Church, Sibu Resident Office and Persatuan Penganut Yu Huang Da Di Sibu.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony, Teo advised the recipients to utilise the fund properly.
He said they should make use of the fund according to what was stated in their applications and not to use it for other purposes.

He pointed out that if not done according to their application for the fund utilisation, they would be blacklisted and will not be getting any more fund in their next application.

Meanwhile, he urged other applicants who have yet to receive approval for the fund application to be patient as it needs time to verifiy and process.

Among those present to witness the handing over of special fund ceremony were political secretary to the Premier, Joshua Ting Fu Ying and Kapitan Wong Hua, who is also the Bawang Assan PDP chairman.
