SIBU: Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku Phase 4 and Jerewit in Nangka constituency will have 39 houses for the hard-core poor (PPRT).
Housing and Public Health Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee when contacted yesterday said that 15 houses would be completed soon and thereby making it a total of 30 PPRT units here.
Last August, Dr Annuar handed over the PPRT house keys in Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku Phase 4 here to the owners, who were victims of a fire which razed their houses in Kampung Datu Lama.
According to him the total cost of the 30 houses is RM2. 04 million.
Dr Annuar, who is also Education and Technological Research Assistant Minister said each of the 15 houses was built at a cost of RM68,000.
According to him, the PPRT housing units are for the victims of a fire which razed their houses in Kampung Datu Lama.
“There will be nine more units of such houses built in February for other victims of the same fire. And it would make a total of 39 units of PPRT houses here,” he said.
Dr Annuar pointed out that not all houses were built in Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku Phase 4.
“Some are at places such as Jerewit,” he said.
