KUCHING: Forty participants successfully completed a threeda y Communi t y Ec onomi c Enpowering and Strengthening Programme jointly organised by Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) and Malay Professionals Association of Malaysia, which ended yesterday.
The programme participants were selected by DBKU Friendly Neigbourhood from five main constituencies under DBKU – Satok, Pantai Damai, Samariang, Tupong and Demak. DBKU Mayor Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahab Abang Julai presented certificates to the participants at the closing of the programme at Sarawak Islamic Complex here.
According to Wahap, the main objective of the programme was to inculcate a cultured working community within the DBKU area.
The effort was also to assist the community to develop their professional careers and improve the socio-economic level of the community by reducing unemployment. Wahab said the programme was an example of what other local authorities could follow. President of Malay Professionals Association Malaysia, Puan Siti Nor Mokthar said one of the topics covered was Online Business. The Ma l ay Prof e s s iona l s Association of Malaysia has been collaborating with DBKU in various programmes since 2012.
