MIRI: A total of 40 participants who signed up for the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) ‘ s ‘D’ instructor coaching certificate course 2023 received their certificates on Monday evening.
Twenty-nine of these participants were teachers from secondary schools from various divisions in the state.
Certificates were presented by Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang cum Pujut assemblyman.
Also in attendance were the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) deputy president Mohamad Saif Jubaidi, deputy president of Miri Football Association (Miri FA) and the head course coaching instructor Wan Jamak Wan Hassan.
Yii in his opening remarks disclosed that the city council has been always open for discussions on suggestions to upgrade the Miri City Council (MCC) Padang facilities for the betterment of the football sport in this division.
He was responding to FAS deputy president Mohamad Saif Jubaidi’s suggestion that the city council should take some measures to do some upgrading works on the MCC football field.
Amongst other things that Saif requested was to install better football lighting at the field.
