MIRI:  Schoolchildren need to know about drugs and learn to say no, said National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) Miri chief Mazlan Jikran.

He was addressing 40 pupils from 10 primary schools in Subis District at the closing of “Kem Pintar 2019 ̶  Program Intelek Asuhan Rohani” (Smart Camp 2019 –Intellectual Programme) held at Niah National Park last Friday.

The four-day programme, which kicked off on March 19, ended on Friday.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Subis District Officer Jamalie Busri on Friday.

Apart from giving talks on the dangers of drugs, facilitators from Nada Miri also touched on alcohol addiction.

Mazlan said such programmes were meant to make the children aware of how drugs and alcohol addiction could have negative impacts on their lives.

The Primary 2, 4 and 6 pupils were accompanied by their respective teachers.
