KUCHING: Some 40 youth in Kota Samarahan participated in a Digital Marketing Workshop Samarahan Skillspreneurs Programme on Thursday (Jan 26).
With the aim to improve Sarawak youth entrepreneurs’ skills holistically and comprehensively to develop their businesses, the programmed targeted those who are committed to making their living standards better through courses as well as spa and barber skills challenges.
The one-day programme which was organised by Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) Youth together with Koperasi Belia Inovatif Sarawak Berhad (KOBIS) and supported by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED) took place at Think Big Centre.
KOBIS in a statement today said that the programme was to ensure the entrepreneurial sector in Sarawak continues to be competitive with other states, especially through the use of digital marketing.
“It stimulates and encourages the talents and skills of interested youth to make the entrepreneurship sector a career field,” said the statement.
Among the activities during the programme are skills training, special challenges, and entrepreneurship training which are expected to be able to foster interest and enthusiasm in the circle participants to activate themselves in the field of entrepreneurship that they venture into.
Meanwhile, Head of DUBS Youth Nizam Datuk Khalyd urged the youth in the area to take advantage of such a programme to develop the socioeconomic sector, talent, and opportunities provided by the agencies and authorities.
“The positive response from the youth group is not only able to give the injection to the economy but can also produce capable youth who contribute to the state through participation in activities, training and challenges organised entrepreneurship,” he said.
