KUCHING: Sarawak’s total COVID-19 cases have increased to 252,945 after 42 new cases were recorded on Saturday (Feb 5).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update, said the cases were categories 1 and 2.
“Of the figure, 23 cases are category 1 and 19 are category 2.
“Kuching tops the list with 17 cases, followed by Sibu with nine cases, Miri (eight), Lundu (three), Bintulu (two), and one each in Lawas, Kanowit and Song,” the committee said.
No new fatality or clusters were reported in the daily update.
In addition, there are 17 new persons under surveillance and 199 of them are currently quarantined at designated hotels.
SDMC also stated that the total number of persons under surveillance who had been discharged were 165,844.
In terms of non-compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), Kuching police had issued a total of nine compound notices to errant individuals.
All of them had failed to scan the MySejahtera before entering a premise, bringing the total number of compounds issued by Sarawak police to 13,157.
