MIRI: A total of 42 Form 3 and Form 4 students participated in the Youth Eco Bootcamp organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri under the Local Agenda 21 programme, recently.
Themed ‘Rebrand Yourself ’, the programme was supported by Pustaka’s smar t par tners – Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) Miri Branch, Mega Hotel Miri and Curtin University Malaysia and TFC Miri. Many activities were held to instil and encourage lifelong learning, knowledge-sharing as well as love and appreciation for the environment.
The participants stayed overnight in the library and were given the opportunity to prepare their own dinner and breakfast.
Among the activity sessions were ‘Creative 3R’, ‘Get Fit, Get Healthy’, ‘Information Literacy Enhancement’, ‘Motivation: Open Your Mind’, ‘Green Graphic Design’, ‘Lights, Camera, Action! Video Making Workshop’, ‘Let’s Discuss: Why Volunteer?’, ‘Oh Behave, Dining Etiquette’, ‘Career Talk’ and ‘Build Your Great Personality’.
Present during the closing ceremony were Pustaka Miri Regional Manager Hajah Salina Haji Zawawi, Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Miri officer Joseph Uyo and Miri LA21 officer Dayang Siti Nurbaya Awang Kipli.
