BINTULU: Two foreign workers and a local supervisor were caught red-handed in a case of suspected illegal logging by an enforcement team from the Bintulu Regional Office of Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC).

The raid by SFC took place within a forested area at Sg. Sekabai, Jalan Samarakan near here last Monday.

In a statement issued yesterday, a SFC spokesperson said that 430 logs, an excavator and a chainsaw were detained resulted from the raid.

“The encroachment into the stateland forest was first detected last Sunday by SFC officers stationed at our One-Stop Compliance Centre (OSCC) Sg. Mas,” the statement added. A police report on the case has been made at the Bintulu Police Station.
