MUKAH: A total of 45 various organisations in Balingian constituency received RM973,000 in minor rural project (MRP) grants today (Aug 18).
Majority of the recipients are parent-teacher associations, and sports and recreation clubs.
The simple handover of cheques ceremony was held at Menara Pehin Setia Raja here, and present to give out the grants was Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.
Abdul Yakub said the contribution is to help the organisations implement activities or programmes for the benefit of all parties.
“I hope the recipients would utilise the grant wisely,” the former Dalat and Mukah District Council walikota said in his speech at the event.
Mukah district officer Shaferi Saili and Kueh Peng Choon, who represented Mukah district education officer, also attended the event.
