KUCHING: A total of 450 recipients in Tupong constituency including disabled, senior citizens, orphans and single mothers have received contributions amounting to RM45,000.
Handing over the contributions to them at Masjid Al-Abyad in Taman Matang Jaya here yesterday was Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
At the same time, 39 mosques/suraus also received contributions amounting to RM390,000.
Fazzrudin told reporters the contributions were an effort by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branches to help the poor.
He added that part the contributions were from his allocation as Tupong assemblyman, from Petra Jaya Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof as well as from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private companies.
In addition, Fazzrudin also donated four wheelchairs to Masjid Al-Abyad.
