BAU: A total of 46 projects in Tasik Biru constituency worth RM5 million were funded by the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund, said Deputy Minister of Transport II Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.
A Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) news report quoted the Tasik Biru assemblyman as saying that 17 of the projects funded with an allocation of RM2.07 million were implemented by the Bau District Council (MDB).
“Meanwhile, another 29 other projects are under the implementing agency of the Bau Public Works Department (JKR) with an allocation of RM2.93 million,” he said when chairing a meeting on the RTP approval list for the Tasik Biru DUN area for 2022 with the Tasik Biru DUN Service Centre at the Bau District Office on Tuesday (Apr 5).
Meanwhile, Henry said only contractors who had achieved 70 per cent progress in project completion were eligible for new projects in line with Sarawak government guidelines.
He therefore urged the implementing agencies to identify local contractors who had a good work record and were able to complete three or four projects.
Also present were Bau District Officer Anielia Siam, JKR Bau district engineer Sandra Jujane Jutem and MDB secretary Ng Siang Wei.
