MUKAH: Yesterday, 47 dogs were vaccinated on the second day of the Rabies Mass Vaccination Programme here.
Like the first day, the programme went on smoothly as 29 dog owners came to the centre one after another from 8.30am to 1pm.
“That enabled my staff and I to conduct the vaccinations smoothly and the dog owners did not have to queue up with their pets, too,” said Mukah Divisional Veterinary Services Head, Hasnul Abdullah Buyong.
He pointed out overcrowding could stress the dogs and cause them to fight each other. This could frighten the staff on duty or those around.
“It is hoped that the dog owners will come in full force with their pets tomorrow, the last day of the three-day programme,” said Hasnul.
