KUCHING: Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club recently presented donations to three of its members who are in need.
Its president Marcellinus Meran said the club will continue with such noble cause aside from organising 4×4 off-road and recreational activities for its members and their families who are in need of assistance.
“We also assist in providing transportation and manpower in delivering aid to natural disaster victims,” Meran said.
One of the recipients of the donations is Kawi Maras, 55, who is suffering from stroke. He received a wheelchair, food basket and cash.
The other two are Marian Revelled, 33, who is the wife of one of the club members, and Isa, 55.
“They each received cash and food baskets,” Marcellinus said.
Also present during the simple handing over ceremony were the club’s advisor Jimson Jium; deputy president Alloysious Kuyong; secretary general Sanjan Daik; treasurer-general Sabastian Sakoi; a representative from Puncak Borneo Service Centre, Halix Kuyong; and club member Henry Sokeb.
Meran added that previously, the club members had driven to Ulu Pantu, Sri Aman to deliver food supplies and used clothes to fire victims after their longhouse was razed by fire on May 27, 2019.
