KUCHING: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) seized a total of five vehicles on New Year’s Eve last night in selected parts of Sarawak.
The objectives of the operation were to supervise, detect, and take action against drivers and motorcyclists who failed to abide by the rules such as the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333) and the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987.
During the operation, notices for disobeying traffic laws were also given.
The public committed a number of offences, such as failing to produce a driving licence, unavailability of road taxes, not having insurance, misusing HID lights and more.
Also present at the operation were state JPJ director Norizan Jili, state enforcement division chief Maya Morshidi, and state section operation chief Saifullah Ali.
